The Women’s Rover II Jacket is made from a double layer of Ventile, which offers the ultimate in protection from the wind and rain, whilst also being durable, comfortable and quiet. It is the perfect choice for bad weather hiking, birdwatching, wildlife watching or general country pursuits.

Ventile was developed during the war for fighter pilot suits due to it’s natural ability to repel the cold and wet. If the pilot was forced to eject into the icy waters, it would keep him alive longer, thus increasing life expectancy among aircrew. It is 100% cotton fabric and is not reliant upon coatings/laminations so will outlast it’s manmade counterparts by many years. Being a natural fabric, it becomes even softer and more comfortable as time goes by, which is part of it’s real beauty. A great choice for ultimate outdoor protection.

Ventile is now produced with a PFC free Durable Water Repellency (DWR) finish, which is the first of it’s kind in the textile industry. The new finish contains 63% renewably sourced plant based content, making this fabric even better for the environment. Ventile has been working for many years on this solution, and is proud to have found a DWR replacement for PFCs that doesn’t compromise the quality of the fabric. We love it!
