Flylite Ultra

Flylite fabric is designed to give superb wind resistance and excellent breathability – making it ideal for lightweight outerwear.

Primaloft

PrimaLoft is incredibly soft, lightweight and breathable with excellent water repellency so you remain dry, warm and comfortable, even under the most extreme conditions.

Ounce for ounce as warm as down, Primaloft microfibres are similar in size and shape to down, resulting in nearly equal insulating performance when dry and even better when wet.

Because its individual fibres are water repellent, Primaloft retains much of its ability to keep you warm, even when moisture has soaked through.

The smock has a quarter-length zip from collar to solar plexus, and beneath this you’ll find the enormous kangaroo pocket – big enough to stash plenty of hill snacks
plus you hat and gloves. The whole smock can pack away into this pocket.

There’s a fantastic storm flap over the zip. Thanks to the highly water-resistant fabric, I’ve found that most things stay dry in this pocket in anything short of a downpour. The other provided pockets are two handwarmer ones that meet in the middle, meaning that there’s a lot of storage space here too.

Thanks to the long cut of this jacket, extending well over the backside, these handwarmer pockets actually sit below your rucksack’s hipbelt – a nice touch if you’re using the jacket as an outer layer.

The second we put this jacket on, it was all about investigating this big central pocket. It’s a fluffy cavern accessible via what looks like two separate hand pockets. The fact they join in the centre is actually great for keeping your fingers toasty on cold outings. In addition, a huge cross-body zip reveals yet more storage yet more storage in the stomach area. An extra large pouch constructed from water-resistant Flylite Ultra fabric, which sits under the durable Cordura which makes up most of the jacket.
