Reviews
Independent.co.uk – “Wonderfully flattering and effortlessly technical”.
Wonderfully flattering and effortlessly technical, we love the brilliant, bright colours on this jacket – we tested a Berry model, and it brightened up our coat stand. The cut is perfect for walking, but this jacket is also excellent for cycling, with a roomy hood that pops over a helmet, a big zip pocket on the back, and a long cut at the back that keeps you dry if you ride in a lower position. Fantastically breathable, we kept it zipped up throughout a test run with no problems.
Women’s Running – “This jacket is versatile, lightweight and, quite frankly, just awesome”.
This superb jacket ticks so many boxes. It comes in bold, vivid colours and has such a feminine cut. This is a waterproof jacket which will protect you from even the heaviest downpours. You will love the oversized hood, which can be adjusted in three ways, providing a great fit while running. It can also be worn over a cycling helmet. Further features include reflective patches, a zipped chest pocket, a zipped back pocket, the adjustable hood, the breathable material, and Velcro adjustable cuffs. This jacket is versatile, lightweight and, quite frankly, just awesome.
COUNTRY WALKING - "IT'S A GREAT CHOICE".
Fellow glasses-wearers rejoice! Here we have a jacket with a hood that genuinely comfortably fits around your specs, and we know how hard they are to find! Of all the plus points and nifty designs of the Keela Storm, the standout for me if the simple but effective bendable hood peak which you can shape around the frames of your glasses rather than have them squashed against your face.
The Storm is designed for a range of outdoor activities, especially biking (notice the zipped pocket at the back) and running, but it is a great go-to waterproof for hillwalkers too. Keela’s Flylite Aqua technology does a good job at keeping the rain out, and in fact performs just as well when it’s bucketing own as most of the more expensive jackets in the test. It’s adjustable just about everywhere, the bright orange version of the jacket has extra reflective patches, and overall it’s a great choice for stashing away in your bag on day walks where the weather is unpredictable.
Classic Land Rover Magazine – “a flattering fit”.
It has a flattering fit, is brightly coloured and has a large funnel hood that stays put even in a gale. I particularly like the breast pocket with contrasting zip and the rubber closures on the cuffs.
Tin Box Traveller – “I love the designs and the colour”.
I love the design and the colour. I think we all need a bit more orange in our lives this winter! If you are looking for a lightweight technical jacket for sports and outdoor activities then definitely consider the Keela Ladies Storm.
Women’s Running – “This is a jacket designed with the worst of British weather in mind”.
This is a jacket designed with the worst of British weather in mind. It’s waterproof and wind resistant, with the all important waterproof seams and a full-length waterproof zip to keep rain out. The hood will fit over a ponytail or bun, as well as a hat, and still cover your forehead. The front of the hood has a discreet wire in the seam to allow you to form a peak to ensure you keep the rain out of your eyes. It also has three toggles to enable you to adjust the fit of the hood, which then folds away into the neck when the sun comes out. It’s a substantial jacket, but Keela have managed to keep it lightweight. It’s a flattering fit and has lots of pocket space: two front hip pockets, a deceptively large breast pocket and another large one on the lower back that’s ideal for carrying maps.
Good Housekeeping - "an all-rounder".
Whether you’re a short-distance sprinter or love nothing more than going out for a long weekend run and seeing where the path takes you, you’ll need an all-rounder like this Storm jacket.
Our testers appreciated the range of useful features such as a chest pocket, roll-up hood and lightweight fabric. Need to layer up underneath? Not a problem. Our runners found the jacket was versatile enough to wear with thicker base layers when needed and had solid breathability. Plus, it scored top marks for waterproofing in our tests. We’re sold.
Get Out With the Kids – “This jacket has become my new go-to jacket for running”.
This jacket has become my new go-to jacket for running…the fact that it is compact means I can easily fit it in my backpack when I’m up on the hills and feel prepared for a change of weather!! I love the berry colour, not too bright but enough of a colour to feel stylish and on-trend! It’s lightweight, comfortable and no movement restrictions. I found the pockets to be a good size. I was able to fit my gloves in them when I started to work up a sweat!
WOMEN'S RUNNING - "ADJUSTABLE HOOD, LOWER BACK COVERAGE AND VERY LARGE RAER ZIPPED POCKET. WINNER".
This star jacket from Keela ticked all the boxes, with all our testers absolutely loving it. Megan said, “Adjustable cuffs and thumbloops, waterproof zips on pockets, stowable and adjustable hood, lower back coverage and very large rear zipped pocket. Winner.”.
Independent.co.uk – “A lovely jacket with a beautiful fit that you’ll want to wear off the bike as well as on.”
A lovely jacket with a beautiful fit that you’ll want to wear off the bike as well as on. The giant hood fits comfortably over a helmet, with drawstrings to customise how tight it is so there’s no impact on your field of vision, while the hood also stashes under a reflective tag, which is a nice touch. Big zippered pockets, plenty of space around the shoulders and fasteners around the wrist all made riding in bad weather comfortable. Reflective details are sensibly integrated – around the back and hem – to be visible when you’re riding low as well as upright, and with a backpack on.
Women’s Running – Editors Choice Winner 2021
It’s lightweight and stylish, comes in vivid colours and is great for winter with its large hood. Chrissie said: “I love how it packs into a bag without taking up much space. There are four pockets, including one on the back. The hood is big enough to fit a bobble hat underneath and the jacket is really breathable. The bright colour and reflective strips are good for dull light conditions.”

Women's Running - "No wonder we've loved the Storm at WR for many years"
I could go on for years about this jacket but we’re all getting older, so I’ll just summarise my best bits. The dark teal colour, the flattering waisted fit, the movability around the armpits and shoulders, the feeling of quality in the fabric, the high but non-restrictive neck and the big hood…it turns out it’s really hard to be concise when talking about this one! I’ve worn it for running and cycling and the long scooped back hem is really effective at bum warming and mud repelling. I also like that the bright zip tabs contrast with the main body colour. Zips are taped, there are reflective details, and the material, though light and breathable, feels sturdy. No wonder we’ve loved the Storm at WR for many years running! A fab mid-priced multi-sport jacket.
