System Dual Protection (SDP) is Keela’s unique double-layer waterproof system, developed to manage one of the biggest challenges in wet and cold conditions: condensation inside the garment.
Using two protective layers with an insulating Air Gap between them, SDP combines waterproof protection, breathability, moisture management and thermal regulation to help keep the wearer dry, warm and comfortable in demanding conditions.
THE PROBLEM - Ever Felt Wet Inside Your Waterproof Clothing?
Waterproofing protects you from rain coming in from the outside, but moisture can also build up inside a garment.
Just like condensation forming on a cold car windscreen, differences in temperature between the inside and outside of a jacket can cause sweat and water vapour to condense.
In wet and cold conditions, breathable waterproof fabrics can become less effective at moving moisture away, leaving inner layers damp and the wearer feeling cold and uncomfortable.
Traditional breathability testing is often carried out in dry conditions that don’t reflect the environments in which high-performance waterproof garments are actually used.

Moisture builds up where you don’t want it - next to the body.
THE SOLUTION - how sdp works
System Dual Protection (SDP) uses two layers that work together to manage both external weather and internal moisture.
A tough, durable 100% waterproof outer layer protects against the elements, while a lightweight inner layer laminated with a hydrophilic membrane rapidly moves sweat and condensation away from the body, helping keep the wearer dry and comfortable.
Between the two layers, an insulating Air Gap is created. This helps retain warmth and regulate body temperature, reducing heat loss and helping minimise chilling and shivering during periods of inactivity.
