In September 2024, Kevin and Lee visited our Glenrothes HQ to check out our gear and decide what would be best for their Arctic challenge. It was great to meet them in person, discuss their plans, and help them select the kit they needed for the trek.

In January 2025, Kevin and Lee completed an incredible 3-day, 70km trek across the Arctic Circle, facing temperatures as low as -40°C. They braved harsh conditions, pulled their own kit, and camped in tents throughout the journey.

when you wish upon a star

As supporters of the charity When You Wish Upon a Star, they knew that every step of their journey would help make a world of difference to children battling life-threatening illnesses.

By taking on this incredible challenge, Kevin and Lee helped raise funds to bring hope and happiness to children battling serious illnesses and their families. The charity’s mission is simple, but powerful—making wishes come true for children who need it most.

The Kit that Kept Them Going

When Kevin and Lee decided to take on this challenge, we were pleased to supply them with the gear they needed to succeed in the harsh Arctic conditions. Hydron Jacket: Windproof, water-resistant, and breathable, this softshell jacket provided comfort and flexibility through snow and wind.

arctic trek: itinerary

Day One

Kevin and Lee kicked off their Arctic Trek by walking 28 kilometers along a frozen river, navigating rolling hills before making their way down to a frozen lake.

Day two

The trek continued with a 22 kilometer stretch deeper into the wilderness, where the terrain grew more hilly and forests began to appear.

day three

On the final day, they trekked 15 kilometers through varied terrain, reflecting on the challenges and accomplishments of the journey.

Kevin and Lee’s trek wasn’t just about conquering the elements. It was about creating memories, challenging themselves, and ultimately giving back to those who need it most.

As Kevin shared, “We set off along the river and very quickly realised this was not a walk in the park. The scenery was absolutely phenomenal as was the group of people that had assembled to take on the trek. We marched on for the day, and everyone was in good spirits. The first night in camp was superb. We sat around the campfire getting to know each other.”

Despite the freezing conditions, they faced each part of the trek head-on, pulled their own gear, and created lasting memories, all whilst supporting When You Wish Upon a Star in granting the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses.
